Program Notes: White is a compositional study in stillness and monochromatic texture. Written early in my career, the work serves as a direct homage to Takashi Yoshimatsu’s White Landscapes, a piece that deeply influenced my understanding of how silence and static harmony can create a sense of color.

Just as visual artists mix varying shades of white to create depth on a canvas, this piece utilizes Clarinet, Violin, Cello, and Piano to invoke subtle timbral shifts to evoke a frozen, suspended atmosphere. Rather than driving forward with traditional development, the music aims to capture a moment of stasis—an aural expression of a bleak, beautiful, and motionless winter landscape.
